Thought i might start a string about car audio. Been thinking about adding a system to my car and was wondering if anybody out there has any advice for me. I have about a grand to spend and little experience in car audio stuff. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Start by evaluating your sensibilities for mounting speakers. Look to see what size/location positions you have available. Make sure each location you want to use has wires running to it and then look at your dash for receiver mounting options. Look to see that all the wires you need are in place, ie power acc ground and speaker leads. Then buy yourself a reasonable deck/receiver and buy some reasonable speakers for the front positions (ideally). With a limited budget focus on the receiver and the speakers that are closest to your ears, that way you will have at least some sound clarity. Any old set will do for your rear seat passengers right?
